PRAYERES FOR JAPAN'S DEAD

PRAYERS AT BAUDHA TO REMEMBER THE DEAD IN JAPAN

Kathmandu, 28 March: Non-Nepali Residents Association
Monday offered prayers and puja for the dead in the recent
earthquake and tsunami in Japan at Baudhanath stupa.
Buddhist monks conducted the prayers and worship.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav lit a lamp for peace.
He expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Nepal,

FIVE ARMED POLICE FORCE PERSONNEL FIGHTING A FIRE IN KANCHANPUR

Kathmandu, 28 March: Five personnel of Armed Police Force were injured while containing a fire at a furniture factory in Kanchanpur.
The fire laws brought under control.
Other details weren’t immediately available.

NBL LAUNCHES STUDY

Kathmandu, 28 March: Nepal Bank Ltd., the country’s first commercial
bank, Monday asked applications from interested ,qualified persons or institutions to prepare the bank’s ‘strategic plan’ for the next five years.
The bank said it has 110 branches with a 3,000 work force.

MASS TRANSFERS IN FINANCE MINISTRY

Kathmandu, 28 March: New Finance Minister Bhatar Mohan Adhikari,
who is also deputy prime minister, has executed mass transfers of senior officials inhis ministry.
Twelve joint secretaries and 21 deputy secretaries were transferred.
Joint Secretary Tanka Mani Sharma has been appointed Chief of Corporation Coordination Division while Jint Shanta Bahadur Shrestha has been appointed
Director General of Revenue Investigation Department.
