ONE CHILD DEAD, 250 FALL SICK

Kathmandu, 30 March: One child died Tuesday and 250 persons have become sick in Nepalgunj after being administered medicine against to elephantiasis, Naya Patrika reports from Nepalgunj.
The sick are undergoing treatment at two hospitals in Nepalgunj.

NO DEPLOYMENT OF NEPALI TROOPS IN IRAQ

Kathmandu, 30 March: Nepali Army troops won’t be deployed in Iraq, Annapurna Post reports.
A proposal to deploy 250 special forces troops was received though the United Nations when Madhav Kumar Nepal was prime minister.
Government has reached a conclusion a force won’t be sent until it’s clear the unit will be under UN flag and command. .
“’Forces can’t be sent to Iraq until its clear they will be under UN flag and command,” Defence Secretary Nabin Ghimere said.
Australian officials had been lobbying over telephone with Prime Minister Jhalanatah Khanal for the deployment.

PM KHANAL WILL FIRST VISIT USA

Kathmandu, March 30: Breaking tradition, Prime Minister Jhalanath Khanal will first visit USA to attend a conference on reducing risks after a nuclear accident 15 April, Janaantha reports.
He will visit USA as home minister.
Prime ministers normally visit India first after their appointment.
