CPN-UML claims majority o form government (BREAKING NEWS)

Kathmandu, 16 May: CPN-UML Saturday claimed it has garnered a majority support of 305 members in the 601- member parliament and CA to form a government to succeed the nine-month Maoist-led government of Prachanda.
The Prachanda government has resigned charging a presidential and army coup.
President Dr Ram Baran Yadav asked Army Chief Gen Rukmangud Katawal to continue after dismissal by the government four months before expiry of his tenure.
Maoists are demanding the presidential step be corrected.
Party Secretary Shanker Pokhrel said it collected the support after pledge of CPN (United) to lead a government led by Madav Kumar Nepal and other fringe parties; CPN (United) has five seats in parliament..
Pokhrel said the signatures will be submitted to Speaker Subash Nemwang Monday.
Inter and intra-parties continued to collect support for forming a new government amid a two-week political stalemate.
Former General Secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal – head of the party for 15 years-resigned in May 2008 after losing from two constituencies in Nepal’s first constituent assembly elections.
But he entered parliament after the resignation of one party member to be immediately appointed chairman of a constitution drafting committee; the process has been derailed with deep differences between parties; Maoists are trying to force a communist constitution.
Meanwhile, MJF is vertically on joining a government led by Nepal.
Most of the central committee members are backing Party Chairman Upendra Yadav to lead a new government with Maoists; a faction led by Bijaya Gachadhar with a majority in the parliamentary is pushing to join a government under Nepal.
The party could split on the issue.
Yadav joined the MJF quitting the Maoists while Gachadhar joined the terai-based party quitting Nepali Congress.
Maoists are abducting parliamentary proceedings.

Two suspected abductors killed in Saptari

Kathmandu, 16 May: Two more suspected children abductors of children were set alight and killed at
Jagani VDC in Saptari Saturday.
One suspected abductor was torched earlier in the district.
Nearly a dozen of suspected abductors from India have been killed by locals.
The children are suspected of attempted abductions for their eyes and kidneys.
