British minister holds discussions with PM Prachanda

Kathmandu, 18 April: British Under Secretary of State for Defence and Minister for Veterans Kevan Jones held discussions with Prime Minister Prachanda before concluding a five-day visit Saturday.
Jones said United Kingdom was ready to extend help for the integration of the PLA and Nepal Army.

Jhalanath Khanal leaves for China

Kathmandu, 18 April: CPN-UML Chairman Jhalanath Khanal left for a week-long visit of China Saturday lading a five-member party delegation.
He flew for China via Lhasa.
He will hold discussions with leaders of the Chinese Communist Party.

Hearings to be approved by majority

Kathmandu, 18 April: Parliamentary hearing committee has incorporated a change to approve appoints through a majority vote.
The committee Friday sent a suggestion to the parliament secretariat.
An amendment was made to a prevision in which a government appointment would be approved even with the consent of one person.
