Kathmandu, 26 May: Some leaders have slipped out of the country at a time when Maoists have decided to celebrate the declaration of a republic by lighting lamps, Tarun reports.
Sujata Koirala has slipped out to Singapore.
Before leaving she told some party leaders and security personnel she fears attacks from Maoists.
Ms Koirala left the country on 24 May, apparently on advice of her father, not to be in the country when it is headed for an uncertain situation, newsfront reports.
This has also sparked a debate, especially in the Congress party, that the elder Koirala is not going to ‘give on the platter’ the power to Prachanda.
