Casualties feared in another Bhutan bomb explosion

Kathmandu, 21 March: United Revolutionary Front of Bhutan (ULFB) Thursday lobbed two powerful bombs at Bhutanese forces in Samchi in which some casualties are feared, Nepal Samacharpatra reports from Damak quoitng a communique issued by front Commander-in –Chief.
There are believed to be police casualties in the bombing of a police post ahead of the 24 March election for the lower chamber of a legislature.
The blasts were a warning for Bhutanese King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk, the statement said.
The fresh bombing comes after four simultaneous attacks at several places by Bhutanese Maoists in a people’s war to topple the king in the Buddhist kingdom.

Verbal ban on climbing Everest

Kathmandu, 21 March: Nepal’s Ministry of Tourism has imposed a ‘verbal’ and unwritten ban to limb Mount Everest until 10 May against which nearly 200 climbers Thursday gheraoed the Mountaineering Division of the Ministry demanding the decision be overturned , Nepal Samacharpatra reports.
They held discussions with the secretary.
They demanded a Ministry decision banning climbs above the first camp and demanded climbers be allowed to go up to third camp.
The newspaper quoted an unidentified climber as saying a decision could be taken Sunday.
China has banned climbs on then orth side of the peak from 1 to 10 May.
Climbers claim the ministry on Chinese ‘request’ took a ‘verbal’ decision to stop ascents up to the first camp.
